Oxford race calendar: winter and spring 2027

Cross country, local 10Ks, half marathons and one triathlon weekend around Oxford from November 2026 to June 2027, with dates checked on organiser pages.

Winter is the best time to start racing around Oxford. The Oxfordshire Cross Country League runs on Sunday mornings through the muddy months, and a run of local 10Ks and half marathons follows in spring. This page lists what we could confirm on the organisers’ own pages, from November 2026 to June 2027. Where an organiser has not yet published a 2027 date, we say so rather than guess.

We do not organise any of these events and do not rank them. They are listed in date order.

How this calendar was checked

Each date in the table above comes from the event’s own page, checked on 19 October 2026. We use only dates published by the organiser or league itself. The Oxfordshire Cross Country League’s fixtures page showed only Round 1 when we looked, so later rounds are left as TBC. If a club list and an organiser page disagree, we use the organiser page; one club grand prix page, for example, gave a different date for Woodstock 12 from the organiser, so we use the organiser’s 8 November.

Dates move. Check the organiser’s page before you book travel or pay an entry fee.

Cross country, November to March

Cross country is the winter backbone of local running. Races take place on Sunday mornings on farmland and parkland, usually in teams organised by clubs. If you are not yet in a club, our guide to running and triathlon clubs shows how to find one.

Oxfordshire Cross Country League

The league’s fixtures page confirms Round 1 on Sunday 1 November 2026 at Forceleap Farm, Hinton in the Hedges. Rounds 2 to 5 were not on the league’s own pages when we checked, so their dates are in the TBC table below.

Chiltern Cross Country League

Some Oxfordshire clubs also race in the Chiltern league. We could not reach a Chiltern league page of its own, so we give no dates. Dates TBC - check organiser. As with the county league, you enter through a club.

Road races, November to May

Woodstock 12 and Woodstock 4 - 8 November 2026

Woodstock Harriers organise a 12-mile race and a shorter 4-mile race on Sunday 8 November 2026, starting at 10am from the Pleasure Gardens in Blenheim Park. The organiser’s page calls it the final event in the Oxfordshire Grand Prix. Organiser page

Woodcote 10K - 10 January 2027

Banbury 15 - 28 February 2027

A 15-mile road race on Sunday 28 February 2027, organised by Tempo Events “by kind permission of Banbury Harriers”. Organiser page

White Horse Half Marathon - 4 April 2027

White Horse Harriers, who are based in Wantage and Grove, list the half marathon for Sunday 4 April 2027. Check the club’s page for the route and entry details. Organiser page

Treehouse 10K - 18 April 2027

A 10K, a 5K and a children’s fun run in Cholsey on Sunday 18 April 2027, starting at 10am. The organiser says registration opens on 26 December 2026. Organiser page

OX5 Run - 18 April

The OX5 Run is a charity run at Blenheim Palace for the Oxford Hospital Charity. The organiser’s own page says “Join us in 2027” for the run’s 25th anniversary and gives the date as April 18th, though its heading still says 2026. Confirm the date and distances on the organiser page.

June 2027

Supertri Blenheim Palace - 5 and 6 June 2027

Supertri’s own site lists a Blenheim Palace event for 5 and 6 June 2027. It is a multisport event, not a running race, and is one of the larger events in the county in the late spring. Entry rules, race formats and spectator information are on the organiser page; the event’s sub-pages were out of date when we checked, so use the main event page. These annual races are known locally, but the organisers had not published a 2027 date when we checked. Dates TBC - check organiser.

Other well-known local races, such as the Thame 10K, the Headington 5 and the Oxford Half Marathon, are not listed because we could not confirm a 2027 date on a live organiser page. Check the organiser’s website directly.

Entering a race: practical tips

• Enter early for popular events. Several of these races open entries months ahead. The Treehouse 10K, for one, publishes its registration opening date.
• Know the terrain. Cross country is muddy and hilly. Wear spikes or trail shoes if the organiser recommends them.
• Check the rules on entry. Some cross country leagues are for club teams only, so check whether individuals can enter at all.
• Plan your travel. Several venues, such as Blenheim Park and farm sites, have limited parking and no easy bus connection. Check the organiser’s travel notes.
• Run a parkrun first. It is a free way to get used to timed events. See the parkrun section of our clubs guide.
